A SAFAVID CARVED PIERCED AND ENGRAVED STEEL AXE

DIMENSIONS: Approximately 14 Cm height x width 13 Cm x 5.5 Cm Base
Each face chiselled and deeply engraved handle with a Quranic inscription's to raised lobed cartouche of interlacing split-palmettes and naturalistic floral motifs with a pendant cartouche enclosing a deer, &, the rabbit close to the edges incised and chiselled with designs of flowers, the reverse of the head similarly worked with a scene of tiger hunting over the head of squats deer.
